Stephen Findlay

Stephen is a highly experienced Organisational Development leader with over two decades of expertise in driving large-scale transformation, building organisational effectiveness, and unlocking the potential of people and teams. As Head of Organisational Development at Skills Development Scotland, he leads strategic change initiatives that enable the organisation to adapt, grow, and deliver impact in a rapidly evolving skills landscape.

Stephen’s career spans more than 25 years, in the financial services sector with Aviva. During his 12-year tenure at Aviva, he developed strong commercial and leadership, navigating multiple organisational transformations that shaped his passion for change and performance.

He has since built a broad and influential portfolio across organisational design, leadership and culture, change management, and service transformation. Prior to his current role, Stephen worked within service design and innovation at Skills Development Scotland, leading transformation across a range of services and products to enhance user experience and organisational impact.

Known for his pragmatic and people-centred approach, Stephen combines strategic insight with hands-on delivery, acting as a trusted advisor, internal consultant, and transformation leader. He is particularly passionate about developing leaders, shaping high-performing cultures, and creating organisations that are equipped for the future of work.

Outside of his professional role, Stephen is also a qualified UEFA-licensed professional football coach, where he applies the same principles of performance, growth, and potential, supporting aspiring and experienced professional players to achieve their ambitions on and off the pitch.
