Liam Linacre
Account Manager and Practitioner, Investors in People
Liam Linacre is the Founder and Director of Business Edge (Europe), where his work sits at the intersection of leadership development, executive coaching and organisational excellence. For more than two decades, he has partnered with large multinationals and ambitious SMEs, helping them build the confidence, capability and culture needed to thrive.
Alongside his consultancy work, Liam is part of a dynamic team of learning specialists known for delivering development experiences that are more creative, more thoughtful and more responsive than anything traditionally found in the marketplace. Whether shaping a national Graduate Programme for Royal Mail PLC or supporting a growing SME to embed High Performance Working practices, Liam brings the same unwavering commitment: unlocking potential and enabling people to do their best work.
Since 1998, Liam has been recognised by Investors in People UK as a specialist practitioner—an achievement that reflects both his depth of expertise and his longstanding dedication to continuous professional development. Over the years, he has supported organisations of every size to achieve and sustain the Investors in People Standard, from initial commitment through to the highest level of Platinum accreditation. His approach is grounded in clarity, evidence and action.
Liam works closely with organisations to understand where they are today, identify what great could look like, and build practical, people centred plans that deliver measurable improvement. In 2016, he became one of the first practitioners globally to guide an organisation to Platinum accreditation, and he played a pivotal role in supporting their reaccreditations. His contribution to the profession was recognised when he was named a finalist—and ultimately the winner—of the Investors in People Practitioner of
the Year Award in 2020. As a trainer for Investors in People, Liam designs and delivers workshops for organisations striving for high performance across the framework. He also leads sessions for those new to the Standard, helping them build confidence and capability from day one.
Beyond his client work, Liam contributes to the development of the wider Investors in People community. He is part of the team responsible for training, coaching and developing other specialists, and he has played an active role in shaping how Investors In People achieves its goal of ‘Make Work Better’—supporting organisations to create workplaces where people genuinely flourish.
At the heart of everything Liam does is a simple belief: when people feel valued, supported and inspired, extraordinary things happen.
