Romain Muhammad is an award-winning People & Culture leader, Culture & Performance Strategist, leadership coach, speaker and author. He works with individuals and organisations to unlock performance by addressing the psychological and cultural barriers that quietly hold capable people back.


Before launching MindWorks, Romain founded, scaled, and exited a global recruitment agency and diversity consultancy, partnering with more than 100 organisations across technology, finance, government, and education.


His commercial leadership and operational track record strengthen his ability to advise organisations on culture, behaviour, and performance in a changing world.


With over 15 years’ experience across recruitment, leadership development, and organisational culture, Romain has coached thousands of professionals across industries, sectors, and continents. His work combines lived experience, research, and real-world application, bringing a practical, outcome-led approach to topics such as confidence,

decision-making, psychological safety, burnout, identity, belonging, and leadership behaviour.


Romain is also a writer and social commentator, widely recognised for his expertise in identity, culture, equity, and social systems, particularly in areas including anti-racism, class and social mobility, and diaspora and migration. His insights on race, culture, and the future of work have shaped conversations across industries and featured in national media.


Alongside his professional practice, Romain conducts postgraduate research at Birkbeck, University of London, and is a Research Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. His academic grounding deepens his advisory work with

organisations navigating questions of culture, leadership, and organisational change.


He is the founder of MindWorks, a platform for coaching, learning, and leadership development, and the author of What Are You So Afraid Of? At the core of his work is a clear mission: to help people and organisations unlearn limiting systems and lead with clarity, confidence, and intent.
