Talent Acquisition Candidate Experience Lead, BAE Systems

Melissa is the Candidate Experience Lead at BAE Systems, responsible for owning candidate centric strategy for over 80,000 employees globally. Melissa is involved in leading and contributing to a number of HR and business projects with a lens on the candidate journey. She has over 15 years’ experience within Talent Management, spanning Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition and HR across Global locations including UK, Europe and USA. With a background largely in global organisations, these have ranged from FTSE 100 companies to Government Departments.


Melissa’s passions have always centred around creating outstanding moments for candidates through their journey with an employer; from assessment strategies to onboarding journeys – no detail is too great or small. Projects that Melissa has worked on more recently and over her career include assessment strategies, DEI (including integration of reasonable adjustments practices), onboarding design, programme management (Apprenticeships, Graduates), L&D (delivery and design), employer branding and process management.


Melissa currently works within the Talent Acquisition CoE, working with HR and TA colleagues globally to embed candidate experience strategies, policy and processes. Her main challenge for the year ahead is working on a larger integration project of a global ATS platform, whilst balancing more immediate business priorities that are not captured within this project. Outside of Talent Acquisition, Melissa has also worked within Internal Communications, Marketing, Communications and PR and is CIPD qualified (Learning & Development).
