Kathryn Kenworthy

Kathryn joined AstraZeneca in January 2022 where she leads Learning and Development for the Biopharma Research and Development organisation, based in Cambridge, UK.  Her remit is to support the growth of technical skills across a global community of 8K+ learners, in a complex setting driven by scientific innovation, cross-functional collaboration and external regulation. She started her career in Pharmaceuticals at GlaxoSmithKline 25+ years ago as a PhD qualified scientist, leading scientific teams and cross-functional projects. Her passion for people development, strategic mindset and ability to drive performance led her to switch career paths into Learning & Development over a decade ago; establishing an R&D Learning Centre, supporting team and leadership development and creating an innovative career switch programme to retrain internal talent into the roles of the future. Kathryn’s ability to straddle R&D business expertise and talent development gives her a unique vantage point to facilitate change through the power of people, having taken advantage of a wide range of career opportunities in learning, communications, change management and programme management.
