Head of Learning and Development (L&D), Octopus Investments

Dan is the Head of Learning and Development (L&D) at Octopus Investments and is the chairperson of their Diversity & Inclusion steering group. The L&D team at Octopus partner with the business to deliver internal technical and soft-skills training as well as coaching and leadership training to support the business’s talent initiatives. The company has recently launched learning communities for colleagues working on agile and has supported the rollout of communities for specific teams focused on continuous learning in their roles or crafts.


Before working at Octopus, Dan was the Community Lead for the Design team (approximately 450 people) at Lloyds Banking Group in their Group Transformation business. There Dan worked closely with the other community leads to rollout communities of practice at Lloyds. The communities focused on learning and knowledge sharing and were very popular.


Dan has been working in the world of Learning and Development (both in companies and as a secondary school teacher) since 2011.
