Jonny is Senior Advisor for Organisational Behaviour at the CIPD. He has extensive experience conducting applied research into employment and people management, including in previous roles at the Institute for Employment Studies and Roffey Park Institute. Research interests include job quality, workplace conflict, social technology in the workplace, and applying behavioural science to the areas of recruitment, reward and performance management. He leads UK Working Lives, a new national survey of employees that includes CIPD’s Job Quality Index. He actively promotes evidence-based practice, including through systematic reviews and randomised trials. He also runs the CIPD’s Applied Research Conference, which exists to strengthen links between academic research and HR practice. Jonny has an MA in social research and comparative labour studies from Warwick University, is an Academic Member of the CIPD and is also a Fellow of CEBMa, the Center for Evidence-Based Management.
