Listed in 2019 by HR Magazine as one of the 40 most influential HR Practitioner within the UK, Jon has held a variety of senior positions within the hospitality sector and is currently the Director of Human Resources for the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London Hotel & One Hyde Park Residences. As a key ambassador for the hospitality industry in addition to leading the HR operations and people agenda at Mandarin Oriental, the world-renowned luxury Hotel and Residence Jon is also a board member for the UKs Fair Tip Share body, a committee member for HR in Hospitality and an honorary Executive in Residence for Sheffield Hallam University Business School. In 2019 Jon was shortlisted as HR Director of the Year at the 2019 HR Excellence Awards following the reopening and relaunch of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London after a three year £100M+ renovation of the property and his ongoing commitments to the industry.   

Prior to joining Mandarin Oriental in 2016 Jon was part of the senior team that created a new luxury lifestyle brand EDITION where he assumed the role of opening HR Director for The London EDITION property providing the strategic HR direction for the brand as this grew and developed. During his time at EDITION he was instrumental in creating the EDITION employer brand that still lives strong to this date. As well as leading the HR team in London Jon also played a wider strategic role in working alongside the EDITION global brand team in New York driving new initiatives within the HR field and supporting the on-property HR teams in the openings of the Miami Beach and the New York EDITION properties in 2014 and 2015. 

Jon is a Charted Fellow of the CIPD, a graduate of Sheffield Hallam University as well as a qualified Personal Strengths Total SDI Facilitator and often speaks at events organized by the CIPD and various university and hospitality industry related industry forums.
