Biography

Rona S Beattie is Professor of Human Resource Development (HRD) in the Department of Business Management, Glasgow School for Business and Society, Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland.

Rona has published widely, presented many papers at international conferences and is a member of a number of journal editorial boards. Her teaching and research interests are diverse including healthcare management, employee engagement, voluntary sector leadership, coaching, mentoring, the role of line managers as facilitators of workplace learning, and HRM in public service organizations.  It is this latter research interest that sparked Rona’s interest in people security and the insider threat in infrastructure organizations, public, private or third sector.

She is currently leading the development of a potential degree in MSc Management (People Security) and a potential PG Certificate in People Security for GCU’s Glasgow and London campuses. Rona’s work was also highlighted in January 2015’s edition of People Management, as part of an editorial highlighting leading business school ideas for 2015.  Rona is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (FCIPD), a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a member of the University Forum for Human Resource Development (UFHRD).
