Professor Brendan Burchell

Professor of Social Sciences and President of Magdalene College, University of Cambridge

Brendan Burchell is the President of Magdalene College, University of Cambridge and also the Professor of Social Sciences in the Department of Sociology. His background covered a variety of disciplines including psychology, statistics, computing, applied economics and sociology.  A recurrent theme through his career has been the working lives of individuals and the impact on their wellbeing.  Recently he has been involved in a number of projects concerning reduced working time, and in particular the four day week.
