David Doe

VP Talent Strategy & Excellence, Shell

David joined Shell in HR in 2003 at Stanlow Refinery as part of the Graduate programme. He has a BA in Modern History and an MA in British Naval History.

Since that time he has worked in HR generalist roles across Shell’s Manufacturing, Lubricants Supply Chain, IT, Trading and Technology businesses/functions as well as an assignment in Talent supporting the Downstream between 2007-2009. He worked outside of HR in 2012-14 when he worked as the business advisor for the Chairman of Shell UK.

Over the years David has acquired extensive experience with reorganisation/integrations having been the HR integration lead for BG Technical following the acquisition of BG Group in 2016, HR design lead for the creation of Shell’s Technology organisation and led the HR delivery for the Reshape programme which repositioned and right sized Shell’s organisation to its Powering Progress strategy during the pandemic.

David currently heads up Shell’s Talent Management Centre of Expertise and has oversight of all talent processes including workforce planning, graduate recruitment, leadership potential identification, succession planning and self-identification. David is also accountable for the development of Shell’s People Strategy.

David is British and in his spare time he enjoys photography, fitness and cooking.
