Humans versus automation? Upskilling people to succeed in an AI-driven world

Throughout history, inventions and innovations have disrupted working life as we know it and have displaced many jobs in the process. We’re now being warned that rapid developments in artificial intelligence and machine-learning have the potential to destroy millions of jobs around the world.

But will it really be this bleak? What if we adopted the viewpoint that AI will help us to work faster and smarter to boost productivity and create many – if not more – jobs than it displaces in the coming decades? The secret lies in our ability as humans. Afterall, AI can’t take over unless we let it.

So how do we embrace AI and automation as an opportunity? How do we empower and upskill people to recognise its benefits? This keynote will explore the practical impact of automation on the world of work, and how we can harmoniously integrate people and technology in the workplace.
